During my 4 years as Alderman, I think we made some great steps toward improving our Ward. I focused on the issues that were important to the residents of Ward 8: crime, vehicle noise, sidewalk repair, and fiscal responsibility.
I questioned the money spent on the “Bird Whisperer”, I fought for 2 years to keep the Library Branches open, I updated the vehicle noise ordinance to include towing for repeat offenders, and I voted against the ¼% Sales Tax increase. I review the city budget line by line every year, and I have a record of challenging excessive spending.
I have fought to make sure Ward 8 gets its fair share of sidewalk money and that our streets are on the overlay list. Now, I am currently pushing for the sidewalks around our schools to have priority in the upcoming repair list for this summer.
